The importance of the Marine Infantry Museum Park
The importance of the Marine Infantry Museum Park (Cultural)
The Marine Infantry Museum Park was inaugurated in 2012 and is certified by the Ministry of Culture. It is the result of cooperation between various companies and the national government to promote the history and significance of the Colombian Marine Infantry. This museum, known as one of the largest in Latin America, has two sections: the Old Museum, which showcases the history of the Infantry in the 19th century, and the Modern Museum, which exhibits the history of the Marine Infantry from its reestablishment in 1937 onwards. It is an interactive space where you can enjoy a tour that narrates the history of the Marine Infantry, with special rooms for flags, a memory room, rooms for heroes fallen in combat, and replicas of the equipment used by marines in their training, including boats and weapons. The museum also displays the different uniforms worn by the Marine Infantry, collections of weapons and muskets, and a recreation of the history of Colombia's independence in the Battle of Lake Maracaibo.
